  • 36% of Australian homes have been burgled. (C)
  • Homes that have alarms prove a less likely target for burglaries. (C)
  • 78.8% of AAMI theft claims were from homes without an alarm system fitted. (C)
  • 12.9% of AAMI theft claims were from homes fitted with a 'local' alarm system. (C)
  • “Back-to-base” (monitored) alarm systems accounted for 3.6% of AAMI theft claims.

  • Homes in Victoria with an alarm system switched on accounted for less than 1% of thefts. (B)
